The proposal

We have just returned from a blissful week in Phuket at the Avista Hotel, Kata Beach.  Jimmy organised the entire thing - our days were spent cruising between the islands, lying by the pool, walking along the beach and exploring the busier streets of Patong by night.  It was such a brilliant holiday.  Valentines day was no exception - fresh coconut milk on the beach, lazily in and out of the water to keep cool and a couples massage hit the spot perfectly.    In the early evening Jimmy took me for a walk along Kata Beach.
Towards the end of our walk I wrote this message to him in the sand.
Little did I know that I was actually stealing his idea…  he asked me to turn around and close my eyes. When I opened them I saw this and my beautiful man down on one knee!  Instantly I burst into tears and of course I said yes!
We strolled up the beach to the restaurant.
After finishing our 6 course degustation, a feast fit for a king, I happily accepted Jimmy's final rose (I may have forced him into this using the rose on the table haha).
We then endeavoured to send a love-heart shaped lantern into the sky but it burnt down (hopefully not a sign of what is to come!).  A cylindrical lantern had to do!  It was beautiful and we watched it float away into the horizon until it completely disappeared.

And if that wasn't enough, there were fireworks as we were walking home.
We are so thrilled to be engaged and wanted to share this exciting time with you all.  My ring is currently being made and so I can't wait to start wearing it in a few weeks time!  Please refrain from writing publicly on our Facebook walls until further notice.
